I Want To Learn Magic

Have you ever had a secret wish to learn magic? You've thought "I want to learn magic" but never actually got around to knowing how to go about it. Are you looking for helpful advice so that you can successfully learn magic? Are you perplexed by magic tricks? I have summed up some salient tips and features for learning magic.

I started learning magic when I was barely 7-8 years old. My Dad opened in front of me the vast knowledge bank that was within my reach, the Public library. He advised me to learn sleight of hand to be a good magician. I, being a typical young child, was enchanted with the world of "Magic". For me "magic" was not sleight of hand but it really existed and could be learned. I hunted all the books possible, but all that I came across were silly books on black magic, voodoo etc. I guess, I could have saved some precious time and listened to my Dad long time back.

I finally picked up some books on "magic tricks" and "sleight of hand" to learn magic. Before you start jumping in glee thinking that sleight of hand can be learnt in a jiffy, please wait. Sleight of hand is extremely difficult to master and loads of practice is the only answer to be an expert. Be careful to learn correctly the first time, unlearning wrong moves can be equally cumbersome.

Irrespective of your age, start with simple magic tricks. Do not think that age has any relevance as far as magic is concerned. Start with basic tricks and gradually progress accordingly. For kids there are many magic kits available in the market with basic tricks that can amuse and enthrall children. Kids can also buy books on magic that teach them small tricks that can be performed easily using household items.

Teenage kids can try by starting to learn sleigh of hand. Buy books which can teach you how to begin and practice lots to become an expert. You may also buy some "trick playing cards" and try tricks on your friends and family. Adults can also refer to books that teach various magic tricks using various accessories like ropes, coins, cards etc and learn sleight of hand by practicing on these.

Practice is the only way to master magic. Be clear about what you wish to learn when you say "I want to learn magic". Magic is not about things appearing from no where or things disappearing from thin air. Magic is actually just "sleight of hand". Practice and perfection is what differentiates a good magician from a bad one. There are no shortcuts for learning magic. Keep practicing diligently, in no time you would be fascinating "magician".
